The explosion happened a 2 minute walk from my house.

So far there have been 0 reported deaths but a few injured. They've been transferred to AUH, the closest hospital.

The explosion happened at a bank right in central Beirut. It's after hours on a Sunday, so no one was inside.

People are saying it's a scare tactic. The US recently enforced sanctions on Lebanese banks to close down all accounts to anyone associated with Hezbollah. The banks have been complying and people are speculating that this is a warning sign to stop. Maybe other banks will be targeted too.

Feels like that high intensity of shootings in the US back to back in the same city, European streets and cities are flooding because of measurable ever increasing extreme weather caused by global warming and the explosions in the Middle East.

Thank god people seemed to have only suffered minor injuries. Seems like it's being thought that the bombing was connected to the Lebanese banking sector's crackdowns on Hezbollah accounts, probably not an ISIS attack.

It's a shame Lebanon's such a political mess; Beirut's a beautiful, vibrant city that's actually quite safe outside of the southern parts of the city where Hezbollah has a greater presence. Wonderful food, great partying, and very nice people.
