They announced at a performance in China that "So Hot" will be their second US single. The English version hasn't leaked yet in any decent quality, so here's the Korean MV of the song
I loved "Nobody", but if that couldn't be a hit for them, then nothing will. This is going to flop. I'd be surprised if one station besides Radio Disney actually spins this.
Kewl, but I thought they said they stopped doing activities in the US ?
Maybe I heard wrong ..
Where did you hear that? I'm pretty sure they're still going ahead with it. According to their official website, they're opening for Justin Bieber on the 14th of this month and they have some kind of contest sweepstakes going on at a tween clothing store called Justice where the winner gets to perform the "Nobody" dance with them on stage.
They need to realize that they should leave their Korean **** at home and not translate it for the US. Their Korean stuff (Nobody & So Hot) is just too cheesy, especially for US radio.
If they want any success over here at all they need to work with US or UK producers. PERIOD.
Why is South Korea always so damn lazy when it comes to releases? They always half-ass everything, and now I hear JYP wants to market the Wonder Girls in China, translating "Nobody" into Chinese? I'm tired of this damn song.
It's sad, because they have all this good marketing but the wrong material, whereas somebody like BoA had the right material and no marketing.
But just for the record, most US audiences that were exposed to "Nobody" liked it, as indicated by some radio shows test-spinning the song and getting favorable responses from listeners. It's just that most stations were afraid to play it. Also, they were the most searched on Google the day after the SYTYCD performance.
But none of their other Korean songs have a snowball's chance in hell of going over well with a US audience, I agree with that.
I'm Korean so I naturally love the Wonder Girls.
I'm sad Nobody flopped but I knew they would, JYP probably thought since Jonas Brothers are so big that just attaching them to their world tour would be enough promotion. When i saw them in concert with JB last summer they said 'Tell Me' would be their second English single, I'm glad they changed it to 'So Hot' thought cause that song actually has a chance.
