But anyway, he's played bigger/better venues than this and was fine. He's been in the spotlight/public eye for a very long time. Not sure why it's only become a problem now.
And I say this as someone who suffers from anxiety myself. Just a bit fishy.
Because he's solo and this is his biggest crowd. Imagine performing at the biggest festival in your country for the first time... solo.
The insensitive slander in this thread is just tragic, Zayn's always been an introvert. Anxiety isn't a joke, He may have agoraphobia which is unfortunate this is technically the largest crowd he'd would be performing in front of and ya'll shouldn't hate on him for that. I'm sure a lot of singers in the business both past and present have social phobias. #RespectZayn
The disgusting comments here anxiety is not something to joke about.
No ones really judging him for having anxiety. But he's a pop star and there are expectations. That's like a doctor who refuses to be around blood due to phobia. It's ridiculous. The bar is set so low for these now popstars.
Because he's solo and this is his biggest crowd. Imagine performing at the biggest festival in your country for the first time... solo.
And it's a completely different crowd than he'll be used to. Instead of preteen girls who celebrate him for every sung note, he will be judged by a diverse audience who may not have even bought tickets to see him in particular.
I think this decision was probably influenced by what happened to Christina Grimmie. It's understandable that he cancelled, if I was a performer I'd feel anxious right now too.
The "he signed up for this " comments are so ignorant, people don't have anxiety and depression all the time, he could have pursued this career and spend years of performing without any problem until a crisis comes and ruins everything, if he takes care of himself he will be able to perform again.
