I'm aware of Janet's legacy and impact on the music industry, but I don't personally think that her music has been that impactful or "classic". Surely her classic songs would have infiltrated this generation like other legendary artists' music have?

I agree sadly. "Rhythm Nation" is probably her most known song of this generation, but pales in comparison to how much people know the songs of artist like Michael Jackson and Celine Dion etc.

I've never heard a Janet song in my life, and the only one I've heard of is Rhythm Nation, so will have to go with Bey.
