Voting Stein regardless, but would be pleasantly surprised if he were to accept

Some people are so blind to the reality that there exists so much more to the political spectrum than "left leaning moderate" or "right leaning" especially when both options are so untrustworthy.

Jill represents a lot of great progressive values but I don't think Bernie will do it actually, even tho over 40% of voters are Independent and a high profile candidate would really shake things up, but at the same time I think voters are so disenchanted that the full 40% wouldn't be galvanized to vote for Bernie on the Green ticket.

In fairness tho, not all of that 40% would ever be inclined to vote democratic socialist/green. some of those are moderates who will waffle between Clinton and Trump (sadly it looks like Trump has more pull among independents), or people who are simply politically apathetic. Now, if Bernie's democratic support held, PLUS the independents he'd add (most of whom couldn't vote in the primaries), he could be a credible third party candidate, but that's a BIG if and it's pretty much unprecedented.

There's a chance he may do it. It really depends if he feels like he can change the party from the inside with the time he has left on this earth.
But on the other hand, would he feel loyalty to a party that is not loyal to him? This is the last time he'll ever run for president, he might just be like "**** it lets go all the way".

tbh

Even if he didn't win, I don't think you could send a stronger message to the democratic establishment than making a credible run as a third party candidate running off of PROGRESSIVE (what SHOULD be democratic) ideals. And if he pulled away enough votes to cost Hillary the nomination?

Her fault for not making a better outreach to progressives than "I'm winning! I have moar votes! support me now!" and essentially expecting Bernie to gift his votes to her, as if real votes work like superdelegates.

Not everyone is in it for the status or the legacy associated with being president. For some candidates, the policies and ideology matter too much to give up once the going gets tough.
