Disregarding their debut album, which is ok, but it seems really lazy.

Today Fitz & The Tantrums released their follow up to their debut "More Than Just A Dream," and they simply just left an album title out. Why not call it Hand Clap to fit the artwork?

What if people are searching for a particular album and there is no album title? Can an artist release more than one "self-titled" album or is that forbidden?

Britney Spears kind of did it by titling her third follow-up as "Britney" and then her recent "Britney Jean."

because its their career and they can do what they please

Usually because it's a representation of themselves and they relate to the material more than earlier albums.

Its cute for when you want people to think its a personal album.

When people self titles their albums it usually means their trying something different, evolving or the album is personal concept album. Aaliyah self titled was about becoming a young women, Beyonce was about exploring sexuality and feminism as a mother whip Britney 2001 album Signify her not being that teen pop children act, instead a mature women.

Well, I guess you've never heard of Barbra Streisand's discography...

Because those are usually tha artists best work.

Example: Ciara, Beyonce.

i only think its lazy if an artist does it multiple times..ie Britney, Barbra Streisand, Whitney Houston etc

but to wait & do it after a couple albums is more poignant to me...that signifies that they made a conscious effort to do it with work that was most reflective of them
