Him becoming a Green Party candidate's VP would literally destroy whatever voice he has. The DNC is wanting him to have a strong influence in the party's platform. If he shows some loyalty to the party, then he would actually be able to have some influence on American politics. If he becomes part of the Green Party (an entirely irrelevant party), then the DNC will have no interest in adapting to his platform. This is a terrible idea for him.
