Sorry but they are not underrated singers, calling them underrated, for starters, you are downplaying real GOOD and UNDERRATED singers.

In other words, they are mediocre singers. Katy is less mediocre tho.

Taylor honestly is. She's no Whitney but her voice is very warm and pleasant to listen to. Her voice can also adapt remarkably well to whatever a song calls of her, be it restrained breathiness (Last Kiss) or big belting (State Of Grace).
Katy has a unique tone that sets her apart and can sound nice when in the correct key and pitch.

They're excellent vocalists, like Camila Cabello.

I don't think they're underrated, but I also don't think it's fair to call them bad singers. Katy has poor vocal control; she's got so much gimmicky stuff going on that it takes away from her vocals. She's always just okay live, but if you listen to her when she just stands up there and sings, it's great.

As for Taylor, she's a good singer. Her voice is not really strong, so she's obviously not on the level of some of her contemporaries in pop music (Adele, P!nk, Kelly Clarkson, Bey, Sia, pretty much anyone powerhouse vocalists). But her voice is good. She can carry a tune, and just because she doesn't belt out all of her songs does not make her a bad singer by any means.

Neither are great but I actually enjoy Katy's tone sometimes and she can deliver a pop song with personality whereas Taylor is just always dull and flat.

Katy a tiny bit her problem is control and breathing, she's obviously a capable singer. Taylor isn't.
