I lived in Tijuana when I was a kid and not all of it is ghetto. It's a nice city! Can't comment on the gay scene though

In small towns and certain areas of cities, it isn't nice imo. A lot of Mexicans (of all ages) are homophobic af ngl, just take a look at Facebook comments whenever there's an article about gays, they will be like "I have nothing against them but why do they have to shove it in my face?!" or "The LGBT agenda is at it again" "Eeew gays. Unnatural. They have more rights than straights"

There's lots of open minded people too though. I wouldn't classify it yet as a gay friendly country though.

TV stations still censoring kisses in novelas Someone I know actually posted that mentality on Facebook because of a gay relationship on tv.

Veracruz over CDMX and Guadalajara? Don't think so, never been there, i'm sure it must be relatively open minded, but still it sounds very random

Veracruz liberal? Not more than Queen Coahuila who approved gay marriage before everyone but CDMX. Ironically, it borders Texas.

There's no problem in the big cities like Mexico city, Monterrey, Guadalajara, etc, the problem is in the towns or small cities where people still has that stigma about gays. Where I live it's not common or better said, I haven't EVER seen a gay couple holding hands or kissing in public

I live in Tijuana. Very gay friendly, there are lots of gay clubs and things like that.
Of course, there are lots of homophobic persons but I've seen many gay couples kissing on the streets without problem.

I visit Mexicali all the time too! Lol

I'm going to Tijuana in less than a month now so can I hold my Mexicanito bf's hand there?
