It's one of my favourite films of 2000s, I watched it yesterday, and it's still great.

The masterpiece was extremely underrated, and one of best romance films all time

Idk about underrated, I heard people constantly talking about this film and how sad/amazing it is so when I finally decided to watch it I had high expectations. Those expectations weren't met and the film, for me, fell flat.

Yeah I understand what you mean that's why I refuse to watch trailer and ignore what people say the same problem happened to me with Lemonade (Bey's film) I was so excited and listened to the reviews but my hype went up too much and when I watched it I was disappointed same happened with Iron man but then I re-watched it second time around 5 year later and loved it.

Britney was considered for Allie's role.

Same. I read the book first and it was really nice, but the movie wasn't all that to me.

It's overrated if anything...

If anything I believe it's overrated - it's the film everyone thinks of or mentions when discussing the 'most romantic' or 'most saddest' or 'most heartbreaking' etc, but I found it pretty bad.

HOWEVER I loved the film, whilst the writer seems to literally re-do the same stories over and over again, I thought the book was incredibly moving. Perhaps that's why I didn't enjoy the film, as I watched it right after finishing the book.
