Not with that name.

It would have been received better (even if it were released after XB1 and PS4) if:

- It was named Nintendo (insert anything other than Wii/unless it's followed by 2)
- It was marketed to parents as the NEXT Nintendo home console and will be the best thing to buy your child for Christmas and NOT just an accessory for the Wii

Third party wouldn't even touch the Wii U especially after PS4 and XB1 would have pretty much snatched them and provided the new standard for console hardware, so that's out of the question.

It's fate was decided the moment Nintendo finalised the hardware to be honest

tbf if you're talking about the one made years ago, there's a new version that was released a couple of years ago.
