Why do Americans feel they have no choice?

The U.S. claims to be a democracy. Democracy is a choice. Australians have shown their outrage at previous PM's conducts & overturned them successfully several times.

You have a choice. Both Hillary & Trump are horrible candidates that have risen to the top based on nothing but media presence, the backing of huge corporations & the fact that the people have been led to believe these are their only choices.

Americans need to stop settling for the lesser of two evils & actually voice their opinions & elect somebody worthy of representing them.

I'm just dumbfounded that these people have been able to get so far based on their track records. Where is the outrage? Where is the call for change? Why have the people of the US been forced to accept crappy, hateful & pro-war leaders time & time again?

You're not even from the U.S so your view is skewed. Yes Hillary and Trump are the most visible overseas. But everyone knows about Bernie in the U.S, and he IS seen as an option to the general public. Just because he is losing to Hillary doesn't mean the U.S only sees Hillary and Trump as their options. It means, with 2 very strong democratic candidates in front of them that they are very well aware of, the people still chose to elect Hillary over Bernie.

Our election system is set up to favor the two parties (Democratic and Republican). They control mainstream media and have the huge corporations backing them. It's close to impossible to stop them although Bernie has gotten close.

I hope we get a viable third party candidate (like Stein or Johnson) this time around because it'll show that people really are done with this system for good.

Dam party screwed up majorly with the lies and millions are said not to vote because of it. Not to mention the independents who will not be voting at all.

If you don't want Trump to win anything, you should be team Sanders.

The majority of Sanders supporters will not even be voting if its Hilary v Trump. What makes it ****ed up is the Dem party knew about it, and still did all they could to blast Sanders.

OT: Yes, I was originally a Bernie supporter, voted for him in my state's primary. Lately though he's started to rub me the wrong way. Regardless, I'm not sure if anyone would be worse than Trump. Maybe Sarah Palin.

That's the thing, there is something terribly wrong with the system at its core.

I just don't understand why people rely on "hope" as opposed to revolution. You have to create that change. But the system has made all Americans feel as though it is out of their control which is such a shame.

This isn't even a Bernie thing, but the fact that the Americans I've spoken to can't wrap their heads around the possibility of free education, or trillions of their tax dollars not going towards war for example, is so sad.
