Men might as well not wear shirts to events if the idea is to appear cute/sexy
and be socially acceptable tbh. But then again, even men are not required to be sexy or physically marketable for these things.
It's just another instance of women's social value being placed on their sex appeal and beauty rather than the talents they bring to the table. All the girls and gays wanna gossip about who wore what the best and was most admirable and all the guys just wanna see girls look hot, which isn't what any of the events they go to are about in the first place.
I think guys' legs are "cute" though, but obv. the gays are the minority and men wearing short clothing (which is meant to show skin) is considered sort of feminine, so its a no go.
