Switzerland is ridiculously, ridiculously expensive, from my experience there. I did a quick google and stats seem to back it up, as according to this site it's ~1.6x more expensive to live in than the UK.

I did a little number crunching and in terms of how much real money $2,500 in Switzerland would be in the UK, and it seems it would be the same as working for £6.50/hour full time (170 hours a month ish), so it's less than minimum wage.

I don't know how it would work, because some people could benefit from it while others will just take advantage.

I work two jobs right now, but after groceries, car payments, gas, cell phone bill and unexpected expenses are kicked in I have little to know money left. I owe $18,000 in student loans and I'm not even done and I still have a few more years, my partner is $75,000 in debt.

So yeah, if I had a little bit of extra government assistance it'd be great. I don't think I'm a 'lazy' personally when I work 70-something hours a week, I try my best to make do but if the government implemented a program to assist those who truly need it I think it would be beneficial.
