Maybe it's kind of like how a specific demographic are buying BBB on iTunes, but that demographic doesn't listen to Radio 1.

Well some people obviously like it or it wouldn't be so high. I'm sure most of those texters will eventually like it seeing as most people who despise it cave in to its addictiveness.

they prolly just haters. I mean if an artist i dun like is being played on radio im not gon be callin or texting the radio station aking them not to play it. That's effin dumb as heck.

It's a love/hate song. So even if there's a lot of people who dislike it I'm sure that there is an equal number who like it. Also, it is possible for a song to be successful whilst only appealing to a small percentage of people.

I didn't expect BBB to be doing so well this early. It has no chance at number one during the next few weeks though, the Haiti song is released on Sunday. That will have two weeks at the top at least, depending on how high first weeks sales are.

They really should factor in iTunes music video sales into the Billboard Hot 100... I don't see why they don't It's a fair sale of a song that iTunes clearly ranks. I don't see why not

They have to sell MV's at multiple retailers for them to be eligable

Billboard has one policy of not taking in account sales of an unique retailer, iTunes is the only one that sells music videos.... and also music videos sales aren't even that relevant....

They could still make the difference between number one and number two on The Hot 100 if points using the current method of calculation were close.

Cause not every song has a music video...and if one song was number one on digital downloads and didnt have a video, but number two on digital downloads did and was number one on music videos, how would that work?

Well the number 2 song would be number one if it sold enough music videos to make up the gap bewtween their initial download sales. Of course Airplay and Streaming also factor.

Even if it wouldn't change the immediate ranking on the Hot 100, it could still be factored into the songs final sales.

But not every song is played on the radio. Maybe a song by some indie group gets no airplay but they have a popular music video.

But thats just not fair to the other song, cause the music video just hasent been released yet. If they released a music video for every song released then it would be a good idea.

It is fair, if the artist/record label or whoever is in control chooses to release a song to download and withholds the video then that is their problem. If they have an issue with it then they can just release the video, virutally all singles have videos.

Yeah but I dont get it :-/ Its an brilliant song IMO and all her performances of it have been really really amazing so I dont understand why the public isnt receptive with it...

Does the same apply for downloads? £100 said that iTunes was the only digital store in Canada so obviously it's not an issue there.

And it can hopefully stop these album tracks and other promo crap from charting because they are making other deserving songs to not peak higher than they should.
