When I first watched it I was going through a rough moment in my life that I cried all night. Such an amazing movie. Now I try to get my boyfriend to watch and he's like "nah, don't care about this kind of movie".
When Heath nudged Jake with his forehead and wanted to stay immersed in their passionate reunion but they had to go back into the world such flawless acting
You noticed that too? Not only was it flawless acting but it was the moment I realized that Ennis really loved Jack.
But the characters are not gay... They are bisexual. And that scene where the wife sees them kissing... So damn sad for her.. I died a second hand death...
I just rewatched this the other night (it's on HBO, but only until like the 31st)!
It's the closest we have to a gay Titanic.
The acting is great, as is the script, the cinematography, the writing. Just all of it.
One of the things I love about it is that it has no real political undertones, as most big gay films (Philadelphia, Milk, The Danish Girl, etc) do. I think that Carol is like it in that regard.
Well I think Brokeback is basically the only movie that can best be described as a gay romance that's sold even 2 million tickets in the US, and it sold 12.7 million. It's a pretty sad state of affairs.
