Feraligatr is the best Johto starter and Empoleon is the best Sinnoh starter (and among the best in general). Samurott is ok

I always picked them with the exception of Chikorita, Torchic and Fennekin.

Gen 6 starters are all tragic now that I stop to think about it.

Gen 5 also snatches her with Serperior alone.

Honestly some oft the water final evolutions are tragic.They win at first evolutions, but grass takes it in final evolutions

Venusaur, Meganium, Sceptile, Serperior all slay so much

Meanwhile I like Swampert, Samurott, and Greninja out of the waters

Charizard, Blaziken, and Infernape out of the fires

I find these gen rates very hard because usually I'm quite nostalgic towards the gen that hasn't had a remake yet. So a couple of years ago I would probably have said that I liked gen III the most, now I'm not so sure. That said, I do think I enjoyed BW the most of all the games, controversial as that may be When I was a young kid I probably didn't really care about the story, but now I really need it to fully enjoy the games. BW had everything in that regard: interesting team, amazing characters (the sages, the shadow triad, N, Ghetsis) and the conclusion at the league with the castle and all the gym leaders turning up was so good. I played both White and Black so many times that by the the time BW2 appeared I was tired of Unova. But I'm on a W2 playthrough now and really enjoying it

Gen 6 was a bit of a disappointment in that regard. I loved the graphics, but team Flare was tedious, the Legendary had no lore to it at all which kind of made me not care about it even though they're both great designs, and the gym leaders, elite four and gym leaders were forgettable. I kind of really hoped for a Z version to rectify this but now I hope Sun and Moon will serve great graphics and a good story.

So my top 5 games would be Platinum, HGSS, BW, RS & FRLG but BW2 might edge out the last one when I've finished playing it.

Some of my fave mons are: Suicune, Umbreon, Arcanine, Mismagius, Wigglytuff, Dragonair, Starmie, Lapras, Luxray, Whimsicott, Cofagrigus and the list goes on and on.

I feel like both ORAS and Emerald are in my top 5 and I'm not even a Gen 3 stan necessarily but Hoenn is everything and the remakes slayed

And then there's HGSS (all time best), Platinum and Black 2. Yellow was super fun but a nightmare to play in 2016 and I've never played GSC al the way through, I got a couple gyms in on an emulator but I can't bring myself to play it if I don't get to keep the Pokemon and transfer them once I finish the game.
