What should I listen to if I wanna get into this genre ?
I am still getting my feet wet with J-Pop, since it's harder to get into than K-Pop because not everything is on YouTube, I personally find it harder to find good download sites etc. but I'd recommend starting with someone like Ayumi Hamasaki for example. She's one of the most known J-Pop stars, quite accessible for my taste, has a long discography and you can find pretty much all of her music videos on YouTube since they were all uploaded there recently I think.
What I'd do is, go to her discography Wikipedia page and look her up her singles for the albums (miss)understood and Secret. Then search the videos on YouTube.
Let me link you to some of my favourite songs of hers, but keep in mind that I still haven't listened to her whole discography:
You could do the same with Namie Amuro or Kumi Koda. I also love a group called Suiyobi no Campanella. Hit me up if you happen to like anything of what you hear and I will try to help you more
@SummerTime I'm more into pop, but I'm pretty open to listening every genre, I'll look into those artist
@JessLM Thank you ! Will listen and give feedback
If you're into pop then I'd suggest you this:
Reccs
If you want to know what singles are popular with the GP, you should
go to either itunes japan or recochoku.jp. Oricon is the official chart
but with singles it shows more what artist got the bigger fanbase rather
than how much the GP loved the single.
J-Pop also has weekly music shows but they're usually not uploaded to youtube
because they get insta blocked with the exception of some acts.
You can find them easily tho if you have a jpopsuki account
@FBF sorry I was only kidding, it just sounded weird when you called it a "genre".
Namie first imo, and Past < Future was what got me into her fully but FEEL is also super friendly.
The four girls are probably still the best way to get into J-pop, given their history and presence. Namie Amuro for typical pop/electropop/some hip hop, Koda Kumi for hip hop/R&B/trashy anthems, Utada Hikaru for R&B/ballads, and Ayumi Hamasaki for rock/rock/later EDM.
It all depends on what you're into.
Pop music -> Namie Amuro, Koda Kumi, Ayumi Hamasaki, Kyary, Kana Nishino, Perfume.
Bands -> ONE OK ROCK, Uverworld, WEAVER, Sakanaction, Back Number.
R&B -> Crystal Kay, Aisha, Jasmine, Che'nelle, BENI.
Tell us a bit of what type of music you like
and I'm sure everyone will give you tons of recs.
Stan.
Crystal's Shine has grown on me thanks to Namie her legendary presence (and some of her albums being even more boring).
newbies should get into koda first because she has the most versatile discog in jpop and is also the best performer in jpop!
Stan!
And I'd advise anyone for the love of God not to pay dust to her pre-Black Cherry discog cause her earlier stuff is very cute, even though some of these crusty bitches here stay unfairly hating on it.

I see you want to catch these hands and then some.
Oh, speaking of Kumiko, I don't see how So Nice is influenced by traditional Japanese music (it's more similar to Candy) as some users here claim, still a good song nonetheless.
You chose the worst possible example of R&B from her I like the tune but she has far better to be noted as R&B from her. I wouldn't even consider that R&B
