Her legacy was her earlier works though.
Just like Michael. The difference is MJ has a huge library of music and performances that spanned different eras.
This is not a situation like Amy Winehouse and Kurt Cobain where they all died during or just after their peaks which kinda sealed their legacy as musical artists.
Whitney died with a huge gap of her best known music from her latest works and dying in a really tragic way also divided the attention from her musical contributions and her personal life.
It didn't help her daughter died the same way as her.
