The "the baby could be a serial killer" type responses are so damn dumb. So what if it was your own kid? You'd let him drown and save your dog instead because there's an exremely slim chance your child could become a serial killer?
The "the baby shouldn't have been in the water" responses are pretty dumb too because the same could be said about your dog

This smash thread I remember reading this topic in both psychology and sociology. I have a pet and he is my baby, but when it came down to it I couldn't let a baby day. Not only is that murder, but could you imagine that story? 'Yeah, so I let this stranger's baby die so my dog, which is going to die in 2 years anyway, could live.' Sounds like something straight out of Florida, 11 o'clock news!
