At this point I think that the "new single thing" is cancelled and that this could be the reason why Boy Problems has been sent to radios. I'm pretty sure that Boy Problems is the final single of the era at this point, so that she can focus on her new album. Remember that it must be released in 2017, and she really has to work hard, it won't be easy to top E•MO•TION at all. I believe in her tho, she's probably the only one who can actually do it.
