This ***** is completely ignoring her singles - it is not on Spotify,
Vevo nor anywhere else but Tidal and pop radio is basically paying it dust - but
"Sorry" managed to make its way back to the top 10 with dark green updates
and could possibly overtake the #8 spot within the next hours.
On the one hand, this is mindblowingly impressive cause Beyonce doesn't give a **** about her single and it's not even getting that much airplay
On the other hand, I'm kinda pressed that THIS is the song the American GP chose out of this album. I get DHY is just too much for them, but couldn't it be Hold Up or 6 Inch?
because the song is not available on Apple Music, Spotify, VEVO, etc, I don't get why are you surprised.
Let's be real. Most of the songs today take off because of big mainstream airplay or huge streaming. Most songs start taking off when the video drops on Vevo or the song gets traction on Spotify.
For instance your fave Riri - It was the same case for "Work" (which shot up after the videos dropped) and "Needed Me". (R.I.P. Kiss It Better - you deserved to be the biggest smash of this era). I'm not saying "Work" didn't do well but as far as i remember it tumbled after the first days already.
Yes I'm saying it would be doing worse (not flopping tho) if it was on those services, this really worked for Taylor Swift during the 1989 era. Streaming is very important that's why Sorry isn't doing well on the Hot 100
Sorry is also relevant because the "Becky" controversy, you just can listen to the song if you buy it on iTunes or TIDAL (and we know nobody uses TIDAL).
Had it been put on Vevo, it wouldn't be scrapping top 40 on the Hot 100, and no doubt the video would have a positive effect on downloads as they do for most songs

But what about the songs mentioned above? Those explicitly took off BECAUSE they were put on those streaming services. Putting them on Vevo alsp gave them a huge push on iTunes and stabilized them in the higher ranks. I think it would benefit "Sorry" a lot if the video was up on Vevo. And for "Hold Up" it would be an even bigger push
