That's good for beyonce. But other pop girls are thee hit AND still make hits. Beyonce should maybe aim higher.
this post proves that it's killing ATRL that she's not even trying to get hits and yet the public is buying the album and the lead single from the album. If she wanted to get hits it's not hard to do. Spotify and Vevo are easy to add your videos/songs to.
Beyoncé's rich and successful for the rest of life. Also, I LIVE and breathe her and dedicate my time spent on the internet, passionately writing about her... like that of a stan.
wow yeah.
when you put it like that, I kinda agree
she's investing her money/time creating albums that have an immersive quality to them, not quick lil singles that are a part of albums that sound like a basic max martin compilation. i thought we already knew this.
Not you shading all the girls and their livelihoods like that.
But yeh. I think it needs to be heeded that Ryan's use of the word "hit" is nothing less of an euphemisms for "brand". At face value Beyoncé's brand is female empowerment and perhaps perfection. Yet ironically, with Mrs Carter World Tour, On The Run and Lemonade occurring in quick succession it is apparent that on a deeper level, her brand is rooted in being Jay Z's wife. Its really sad in society that no matter how rich and successful you become, the moment you use a more powerful man as usher you into success, it dawns on you for the rest of your life.
the fact that she could easily score 5 hits from Lemonade without a single promo performance, interview, etc. All she has to do is upload videos to VEVO and put the singles on Spotify...
She doesn't NEED them, but she could easily get them.
The haters are still trying.
Without a #1 single, she is still getting bigger and bigger. Many #1 singles are forgotten but her flop singles are slowly becoming classics ( RTW, Love on Top, Listen, Drunk in Love..). It's not like she can't have #1 singles ( Formation or Hold Up or Sorry will be #1 if she tries). She just want to focus on making good albums, not just hit singles ( which she has many already).
Can you imagine a Katy or Rihanna or Gaga era without hit single? How many copies they will sell?
Beyonce is doing just fine without hit singles. Her sold out stadium tour is an example.
iTunes albums chart:
1. Lemonade (=) [6th tracking week]
iTunes songs chart:
9. Sorry
Mediatraffic WW chart:
1. Lemonade
Formation World Tour:
$61.5M from 11 shows | 100% sold out
top selling album
hit song
global domination
stadium tour
Yesss bitch tell them!
+ #2 WW on iTunes. Despite only being #1 for 5 days, being blocked by Drake, Radiohead, and Ariana Grande releasing new albums after her which had more days at #1 that were unable to have their albums sustain the consistency and "longevity" that Beyoncé is proving to have w Lemonade.
Beyonce could put this whole site on suicide watch with just a few mouse clicks.
The song has a full radio release and is available on iTunes, it not being on Spotify is an advantage for it's iTunes performance if anything so it would not be any different. I don't see your point.
"Would" and "could" are getting really old and tired. Specially with the number of singles she's released this decade, half of which even Pitbull would call repulsively generic and sales-chasing.
Also, the whole era was such a quick lil' blast of *** - forgotten and disgusting after a brief moment. I doubt anyone is thinking of suiciding anytime soon.
It's released everywhere with a video, of course it would chart high. That's not a big accomplishment.
Only on iTunes:
It's nowhere else to be found, of course it would chart high. People only get it from iTunes.
(Like, the people who use Spotify/Youtube etc. would pay any coins for a single.)
