Tech: New MacBook Pro LEAKED: OLED touchpad, no MagSafe or SD?

There are a bunch of reasons why adding an OLED touchpad to the MacBook Pro is a great idea, the main one being the ability to customize those function keys to swap out shortcuts you don’t use for ones you will. You could also add shortcuts for specific apps.

These photos also suggest that almost all of the connectors on the machine will be replaced by USB-C ports. There appear to be two on the right and two on the left sides of the device, while the only other hole looks like a headphone jack.

Tbh idgaf about no SD because mine has been broken for years and I've never needed to use it (although it's silly not to have one on a "Pro" machine) but I do hope they use that extra space for a MagSafe port! It's saved me countless times especially since mine's plugged in 90% of the time.

If there's no SD slot they can keep it. Macbooks are so ridiculously popular amongst art students that removing the SD slot seems stupid. 99.9% of students and teachers at my uni have a macbook.

This kinda looks ugly, they should keep the same cut out and replace the Function Keys with the OLED touch pad, and also make the actual screen OLED since that's the best technology out there...

USB SD adapters are cheap as anything, it's not that bad.

I don't think it's even a thick component, plus this doesn't look substantially thinner than the current one. I think it's either not complete with the SD and MagSafe or they'll want you to buy a USB-C dongle

Look closely, that's what they're doing.

I think they'll introduce an OLED display in its third year when the technology is more refined (it's only just now coming to Windows laptops).

My only issue with no MagSafe would be that if they're integrating USB-C into the MacBook Pro's, I hope they worked out an easy-pull thing, cause I don't want my $1000 computer to go flying across the room if someone trips on my charging cable.

No that was @ you but my post was a bit of a mess

I don't think the SD card slot is a thick component since the cards themselves are thin, so if they removed it it's probably not for making the laptop thinner since it looks about the same anyway. The only logical reason for removing it would be so they can charge customers $49 for a USB-C to SD dongle, or maybe it would be in the way of the side speakers.
