I've always wondered this. Are there TV networks that everyone has? To you have to pay for it? Who do you pay?
Like the big ones NBC, ABC, Fox, do you just get them?
Please enlighten me.
In Germany you have to (even if you don't have a TV) pay the state (17.50€ a month) for the 2 big and couple small state owned networks and the other 99% is "free TV" which gets money in with advertising.
It depends on the company you purchase from and the TV package you choose.
It can range from 20 dollars for the most basic package to 200 for the most expensive.
On top of that it's another 20-80 dollars for internet service.

So can you get all the big networks for 20 dollars?
You don't have to have TV. Like someone explained there's different packages you can pay for and there's various providers you can get TV through. Anyone with TV has the big networks, and they're all locally owned (so each city has their own NBC that has its own name, but it shows NBC shows in addition to local news/commercials). You pay more for other networks and they're all on a national scale. I'd say the biggest 3 providers are DirecTV, Dish Network, and Comcast/Xfinity
