Not really the most streamed artist of 2015 is Drake with over
3 BILLION streams yet he earned only 2M from it. The only way to make real money with music other than touring is to sell it. Non wonder Taylor Swift, Adele and Beyonce don't care about it. It only gets you RIAA certifications and Billboard Hot 100 hits. 99% of the streamers are free users. Lilly Allen called Spotify out for ripping artists. The heavyweight in streaming makes barely 500k
a year from streams on Youtube/Spotify/Pandora etc. And to make one song you need studio time, writers, producers, let alone an album..all that cost a bunch of money.
Rip the new generation of pop/hip-hop stars. Rock and country isn't that affected because the fans actually buy their stuff.
