U do. A twitter account cannot be hacked unless you have an email AND the phone connected to it. U do remember giving you phone number and receiving a sms code when u created you twitter, facebook, etc. Right? That's protection. It means that any attempt to change your password in a different IP address that's not yours, would need a verification code that you would get on your phone. The same can be applied to an email account and so on.
