Good question actually. I know my parents knew I was gay when I told them despite them acting "shocked" when I told them bc I was into quite a few "girly" things when I was a child. I believe it was mainly denial though because even after I told them they didn't believe me. They would say to me "you're not gay, you just have same-sex attraction" and I was just like ... They used to preach to me how it was possible to just change your sexual orientation.
I was legit about to express my sympathy until I saw the pic and started SCREAMING.
If everyone around me doesn't know I'm not straight then that's their own stupidity. Like, I paid $1.5k to meet Lady GaGa. I don't act feminine really but my taste/interests kinda are. I don't know why I don't just tell them, I guess since I've never been into dating it's not really important for them to know (nor do I care what they think).

they will ignore any evidence until I admit it myself. It's mainly because I'm very straight-acting in front of them and publicly and they were always busy when I was little so we don't know each other that well.
I remember that I used to cut all the shirtless or underwear models out of Men's Health, I hid them in my books. I'm pretty sure they found out those pictures later when they went thorough all my childhood stuff before moving.
My mum even knows I stan Gaga... But they are blind to all these.

Kind of weird since I'm nowhere near the flamboyant type.
I feel like most don't. But the ones that do, usually have really...flamboyant (for boys) or masculine (for girls) kids so I don't imagine it would be very difficult to tell. Other times I think it's just little things that set them off and in the back of their mind they already know. I have a feeling my mom knows I am but is just waiting for when I'm ready.
I only wanted my dad to bathe me and would pull a tantrum everytime my mother had to do it for me. They were probably glad they didn't have to deal with that anymore once I left for college. And when I brung home my ex boyfriend that looked exactly like my dad they weren't shocked at all.
