Trust me I am no Selena fan. Her stats are tragic on their own.
I'm just pointing out how sad it is that Ariana went from "most streamed female album on Spotify" ---> can't outstream a one-month-old album in her release week despite using cheap tactics and desperate attempts.

The consistent Ariana shading, that is kind of sad.

Billboard is a mess lately. They overemphasize the role of streaming on both charts (hot 100 and top 200).

Doesn't mean Drake can't surpass her and be the stream king right? The point is don't compare her to anyone else. The state is bad (or good) because of itself with all factors considered. At the end of the day, Ariana is not as half as big as Drake

What does releasing a music video have to do with SPS? Vevo streams don't count toward the Billboard 200? And tweeting the Spotify link is some cheap tactic now LMAO? As if Miley didn't self-promote and bribe her fans to watch her videos all day long in 2013. Drake literally has the four biggest streaming weeks of all time with Views. I'm not NOT claiming streaming, but just because she loses to Drake because he happens to be a streaming monster doesn't make her a flop, especially when her album happens to be the second largest pure sales and SPS debut by a female artist of 2016 thus far. Also, comparing 2013 sales to 2016 sales is pointless. 175k SPS and 129k pure sales are great numbers for 2016.

Why do the insecure Selena stans always run to the Ariana threads omg? Ariana is MUCH bigger than Selena! I don't care how much Kiss & Tell sold in 2008. That was 8 years ago when streaming didn't exist and sales weren't almost dead. Aren't Selena stans always saying that she's actually getting bigger every era unlike Ariana, so why are they reaching back to her Disney days anyway? Plus, they're always discrediting Ariana's success based on her features yet Selena's only albums that outsell Yours Truly and My Everything domestically are ALL features with The Scene (and don't tell me she's the only singer so it doesn't count because Break Free is still deemed a feature).

Selena can't outsell Ariana worldwide (in 2008 sales or current sales) and she can't outsell her domestically in current sales. My Everything sold more in the US than both Stars Dance and Revival. It sold more worldwide than Stars Dance and Revival COMBINED! Dangerous Woman debuted with 45k more pure sales than Revival did (when Ariana is supposedly in her flop era and Selena is in her smash era) and it debuted with 58k more SPS. Dangerous Woman will also annihilate Revival globally, watch. Being able to sell $12.99 albums beats having a few payola fueled top tens.

If she reaches number one the next week, is it still good? Or is it all about debuting?
