little kids often do what they want till a certain age, even if it's ''weird'' for their gender.
for example i know gays that had barbies when they were kids or played with dolls.
You cant keep up the facade forever. Eventually there will be little cues and parents or friends who you spend all your time with will notice. I also don't know if 'gaydar' exists but a few years ago when I was a high school student I would work at an afterschool program at my former elementary school and I could always tell when the little boys(7+) were gay.
Good question actually. I know my parents knew I was gay when I told them despite them acting "shocked" when I told them bc I was into quite a few "girly" things when I was a child. I believe it was mainly denial though because even after I told them they didn't believe me. They would say to me "you're not gay, you just have same-sex attraction" and I was just like ... They used to preach to me how it was possible to just change your sexual orientation.
Idk but I was stanning Eurovision since the age of 7, loved Take That and had Its Raining Men on my first MP3 player. and they were somehow shocked and needed air when I told them

as a parent you know something's up
Playing with dolls doesn't mean your gay though, you may be a boy that likes to play with dolls. Hopefully parents don't decide that they're child is gay because they don't do things that stereotypical "straight" boys or girls do.
It's hard for me to tell whether people don't notice some obvious stuff or they are too delusional. Wonder what my parents think

Maybe your "This is it" poster on the wall had something to do with it

yeah just like stanning female artists is not gay but yet 99% of them are gay

At the same time though, it wouldn't necessarily surprise the parents if the kid is fitting stereotypes of "gay" things.
I realised after a while my Mum always knew. I never felt pressured to come out or anything. She's always been so supportive even though we never spoke about it, and I think that's one of the best ways to go about it, to make your child feel like it's not a big deal.

Basically this. But plenty of them WANT their son/daughter to be straight, so they don't even wanna think about them being gay.
