Mostly because we haven't had many actually good hits this year so people prefer to stream the songs instead of buying them.Adele a few months ago sold with her lead more than 4m in the US.. I doubt that the industry changed that much in 7-8 months.. Yes, some Rihanna stans can also be delusional. ANTI is not exactly a hugely successful album. However we are in the streaming era, so it would be foolish to compare its sales with one released when the music industry was still booming and itunes was much stronger.

Rihanna achieved her 28th top 10 this year, beating Michael Jackson for the most. Got her 14th number 1. Got a multi-week number 1 album. Not to mention her second highest metacritic score.

RIGHT NOW obviously she is more successful because she has music out.But really ARTPOP era was more successful than Anti in terms of sales (in both singles and albums).That's what I am saying. Rihanna has great streaming so she gets a lot of promo from that. Anyway goodnight to you too

Well if you strictly want to look at sales, then yes both ANTI and ARTPOP are on par. However the latter resulted in almost the end of her career and very bad reception from critics. She lost a lot of reputation (which is now re-built).

If you really want to be honest, the navy were in fact the main driving force behind the negative perception of ANTi with their total insecurity as to her release schedule and constantly calling the era tragic before it even actually started. If anyone is to blame for such comparisons its the navy for being so impatient/insecure/spineless.
