Are you aware how damaging it is to women to accuse them of being liars whenever they report violent crimes? Crimes like domestic violence and rape are massively under reported and unpunished because women are treated like **** when they manage to get the courage to report the crime.

That doesn't mean "Crucify him based on a woman's word", but "Innocent until proven guilty" is a highly inappropriate phrase to use in these cases. Women deserve the benefit of the doubt until there is evidence one way or another.

You may not realise that you're accusing them of being liars, but imagine how your mother/sister/friend would react if they came up to you and told you they were raped or a victim of domestic abuse and you replied "Prove it. As far as I'm concerned he's innocent until you provide me with evidence to get me to support you". Not exactly a nice thing to say to someone who is likely a victim.

Imagine if your dad, brother or a friend came up to you and said he was falsely accused of DV and you replied "Prove it".
