Celeb News: Harry Styles poised for big time Hollywood success

“Our aim was to have people who are fresh and don’t bring a lot of prior work with them, so the audience will be really immersed in the film and not struggling with recognisable famous personalities.

“So Harry really had to overcome hurdles to get past that. He fought hard for it and his work was impressive and that’s what attracted us to him.

This has got to be a joke. Harry Styles an international hollywood star? get real. The GP doesnt know him only the 1D brand.

Boybands have come and gone and 1D isn't any different. They will have the same fate as the Backstreet Boys; good for a comeback tour in 10 years.

And like Backstreet Boys, Nsync and even Spice Girls, sure they might have some varying degrees of quick success, (each Spice Girl had top 5 solo hits in the UK) but they'll need to date a much more successful celebrity to truly become an international star. Only Victoria and JT became true international stars and thats because they dated someone way more successful and well known than them. JT would be nowhere without Britney and same for Posh. Mel B would barely be D list without that Murphy love child. (And i love Mel B but lets be real). And dont get me started on Gigi Hadid she is nothing compared to Posh and Britney levels.

That being said I wish Mr.Styles the best of luck but he best not get his hopes up.

I just wish he wasn't in a movie about war, since war is most evil thing in the world, but if this gets him better roles in the future, that's a good thing.

While I agree with you that he's not going to become a star after 1D is finished, Harry is easily the most visible member of the group. I'm not even a fan, but he's the most recognizable after Zayn. The rest are just random white boys to fill up the space.

Anyway, back on point: the only reason people are giving them all these breaks is because they are essentially the only successful boy band around these days. Doesnt mean they are guaranteed careers after they split up, and frankly I don't see any of them on the scene aside from reunion concerts every once in a while.
