Well, saw it last night and it hurts me to say that it's not a good movie.
Visually STUNNING though, the orcs, the weapons and armors, the cities (
I was not expecting Ironforge and I was SLAYED
, Dalaran and the Kharazan Tower and INCREDIBLE and Stormwind - a city I don't like at all on WoW - is flawless. I wouldn't be surprised if this got technical Oscar noms tbh). Even the spells are EXACTY like the games and the arts,
THEY EVEN DID POLYMORPH
. There are easter eggs of the games EVERYWHERE. It will probably be one of those movies that every time you rewatch you catch something new. The 3D is also really really good, all the scenarios have depth.
But there is so so much information about the lore and I think people would be confused, there is also stuff they let in the air for possible sequels. But really, the middle of the movie is a bore, we don't feel much connection with a few characters to feel sad when some of them die and sometimes that happen in the most cheesy ways possible. I didn't also feel the sense of urgency that the last battle would need, so it was kinda of 'meh, whatever happens here'.
For players of the game it will be an amazing experience, but for people that are expecting the new LotR or something, well, it ain't it
A week ago the movie had 9/10 and 6k votes. I think de fans are making a campaing for this.
