I watched it like a couple years ago.. and I hated it!
It was so tragic. I was mourning a character's death for an entire week.
And the fact it stars Heath Ledger, sigh, why did he have to go so soon.
But yeah, it is one of the greatest movies ever done. Ang Lee is a legend.
It's such a good movie. I had to write an essay on the short story for a class and it made me explore a lot of the themes in detail and the whole story is just so sad it really hit me hard.

It's the closest we have to a gay Titanic.
The acting is great, as is the script, the cinematography, the writing. Just all of it.
One of the things I love about it is that it has no real political undertones, as most big gay films (Philadelphia, Milk, The Danish Girl, etc) do. I think that Carol is like it in that regard.
One of my teachers in high school made an entire class watch it and the kids were so shocked to see gay "action" like that Like they were talking about it for days. Hopefully it made some of the boys curious and ready to play
I think the best part about this movie is how honest it is. Or at least I could relate to very specific parts of it which makes it difficult to watch sometimes but all in all this movie is very telling. Wish Heath was still here..
