I forgot how much a mess THUD! was. One thing I'll give gen 4 is that the characters are all very messy and unique in a good way. I haven't played gen 4 since 2013 and I can honestly say i'm enjoying it so far!
My all time favorite generation is 5 for innovating the story to a new level that should be the standard for all Pokémon games now, and also introducing some of the best designed monsters imo.I don't understand the hate for a lot of the unova 'mon.Gen. 1 had Muk & Voltorb, 2 had the adorable but competitively useless breeding babies, 3 had gulpin, 4 had an unnecessary imbalance of cross get evolutions compared to new species altogether, and 6 had Klefki and the return of an unnecessary imbalance of new species vs mega evolutions of old ones.
Vanillish and Garbodor are not that bad, every generation has that odd one that you kinda side eye but tolerate because the series is supposed to be weird lol

Exactly that, except I'd switch 1 and 3.
And FOR THE RECORD I love Trubbish and Garbodor, they're simply adorable.
