Misogyny is not an inherent characteristic of Christianity. It is a remnant of the ancient world out of which Christianity was birthed. Christianity is actually revolutionary for its time in that it gave women much higher status and influence than other religions and cultures did of the time for which is the reason that enabled feminism to develop and become a thing in modern-day Christian societies.
