Gaga at the 2011 VMAs (a performance I hate) has more stage presence than anything I've never seen from Brit, and I stanned for ha until late 2008. Gaga commands a massive production around her mostly through hard vocals and theatricality, whereas Brit was more like dancer who was promoted to head mime

Britney was dope at her peak but Gaga was a revelation.

She took off a tux to reveal... her stomach, something she had been showing since "Baby One More Time." She brought out a snake... during a jungle themed performance. She kissed Madonna... during a wedding themed performance. That's a lot different than having someone vomit on you, emerging from an egg, using religious blasphemy, etc.

d um Britney wore a damn two piece NUDE suit to appear naked. Her new "adult" self if you will. Isn't that why you guys say the performance was controversial & iconic? Let's act oblivious here. The Kiss was definitely used as shock value and you're delusional if you disagree.

What you're not understanding is that the BOTH used gimmicks to ENHANCE the performance & there's nothing wrong with that. Stop making it out as a bad thing.

I'm not saying it's a bad thing; I just think it's silly to say that they're the same thing. All of Gaga's performances during her peak relied on gimmicks, while most of the time Britney's performances were just her dancing; she saved the shock value for the big performances.

Britney got her mouth opened during Gaga's VMA 2011 performance. That's saying something.

Gaga can sing well and dance okay.

Britney focused on heavy choreography and stage presence while Gaga focused on overall concepts and vocals.

Britney had better stage presence and her performances are way more remembered so I voted for her. You could make arguments for both though. It just comes down to what style you prefer.
