The only way he could go back to his wife and new-born child is if the doctor drops the charges which I'm conflicted about. As much as I want him to be punished so that there'll be less bigots on the streets I fear for the sake of that child growing up without a father...

Thankfully, the doctor is alive and is expected to get back to work in no time according to the hospital.

Okay, one - he's an attempted murderer, not just a bigot.

Two - children can grow up just fine without a father. It's been done and for far worse reasons than said father trying to murder the man that delivered the baby alive and well.

So sad but true, when I have patients who literally just came from the Middle East, the husband is always present in the room. Also when informing the wife about the treatment recommended, he wanted me to explain it to him and not her, I still spoke to her out of courtesy since she is the patient, not him. I respect their religious practices but some s*it is just unnecessary.
