Well obviously, I meant the legendary that was actually meant to be in the game, at first, and not the one that was added at the last second because "muh extra content" without glitch-testing resulting in tons of game-breaking glitches.

But yew do yew.

I mean, okay, but this argument doesn't really hold considering Mew was like, not at all the cause of all the massive glitches in Gen 1. They were there well before it was added - it was simply added into one of the blank memory slots already allocated to Pokemon. Additionally, considering the name of Mewtwo, Mew was probably at least conceived well before its clone regardless of the intent to include it in the games.

What is this mess? Mewtwo is literally meant to be a clone of Mew, and that's THAT.

Except that it's common knowledge nowadays that 190 pokemon were planned for first gen, and that Mew was not one of those 190. Mewtwo however was.



@Retro yes Mew was probably designed, but it was not planned for implementation until very late; after the 190 had already been decided and cut to 150, which is when they added Mew to make 151. Probably because of the plot-hole from Mewtwo's name origin.

Mewtwo is like what happens when you try to abort late.

I know when it was implemented - I know the whole story about Morimoto programming it in two weeks before release - but I just think that there's an argument to be made that Mewtwo was never the original legendary. Conceptually you have Mew, which preceded it or was designed concurrently. In literal terms you have the legendary birds, which were programmed into the game before Mewtwo and likely preceded it in design as well (and which are found much earlier in the game).

My fave is up for argument tho, I'm not sure what it is - Latias, Kingdra, and Scizor are probably my top three, and Scizor might edge out the others.

How wonderful that two of my top three got a really awful Mega Evolution.

Since I have a job this summer, I'm going to save up to buy a 3DS and Pokemon Y
Again, it's great to finally start posting

Oh and as far as the new starters go, I like all three of them, but so far Rowlets the cutest. But, things can change.
