This is truly astounding news! I'm hoping for a sequel to Halloween 2 so it doesn't mess up the storyline of the original murderous night.

While I'm a longtime Halloween fan, I'm not really sure how I feel about this. Carpenter is one of my favorite writers/directors, but he hasn't made a decent film since Escape from L.A. Outside of his Lost Themes albums, he's strictly been doing things for the money. Yeah, it's his job, but doing things strictly for money results in work like The Fog remake.

Anyway, this'll be the third time Halloween has been retconned. I don't mind it. It's one of those things you get used to or overlook as a Halloween fan. On the bright side, John will definitely bring his artistic touch back to the series.
