The 2016 Billboard Music Awards featured Madonna giving a tribute to Prince, who was a good friend of hers. The performance was lackluster overall, as Madonna was not a suitable choice to tribute the singer.

Though the show has been over for about an hour, many people have taken to Social Media to express their dislike of the performance, and the people over at BET decided to join in.

The shade of all shade was thrown as a video was uploaded to BET‘s official Facebook page, which featured Prince‘s symbol while raindrops fell, before showing an image of the fallen musician.

The words: Yeah, we saw that. Don’t Worry. We got you, then appears on the screen, signifying that Madonna‘s tribute was not supposed to happen and that BET will do it right. Take a look at the video below:

The tribute was so bad.

A tribute doesn't have to be over to top to count. It was really touching, and as Madonna herself said in an IG post, you can pay tribute to someone regardless of age, race, gender, etc. If it's an honest sentiment (which I'm sure it was from Madonna and Stevie) then there's nothing else to discuss.
