He wants to be respected as an artist and loved and lauded as a musician. However, he doesn't give anyone a reason to respect him or to love or laud him. When he's on stage, he lipsyncs and half-asses his choreo. In the studio he has co-writers and producers who make his music for him.
If he wants to be respected and treated the way he feels he should be treated, he has to earn it.
