Are we going to pretend that hidden abilities weren't game changing? Are we going to pretend that Castelia City didn't exist? Triple Battles were definitely a thing too. Let's not forget the entire pokedex pre-end game being original, new and not clinging to gen 1/2 staples. Not every poke gen can claim that.
