This isn't a joke thread, being srs. Do you think Jeffrey Dahmer and John Wayne Gacy are gay icons?
Now before anyone @'s me being iconic doesn't need to be a positive thing. You can be iconic for all the wrong reasons. Obviously people love to celebrate and appreciate icons of the community who have done positive things but what about people who are notorious and cruel? Does that make them any less iconic? They too have widespread fame and instant recognition. They have been referenced - and still are to this day - in songs, movies, TV shows, books etc. And they are still the focal point of many news stories and crime shows.
