In a statement released to Access Hollywood, Christina Aguilera gave her two cents on the Whitney Houston hologram, and the controversy surrounding its performance with her being cancelled.

The special effect was supposed to be a part of Christina's set on "The Voice" finale. However, Whitney's estate decided that it wasn't the best idea, after all, after looking at it and disliking the finished product.

"I was honored that the Houston family asked me to perform a duet with the legendary Whitney Houston,'" Xtina said. "Sadly, the technology could not meet up to the talent that Whitney possessed."

"The Voice" judge did, however, give some subtle hope that perhaps the hologram performance can occur sometime in the near future. "I do know in time the performance the fans and I have been hoping for will come to life," she said.

Until then, you can watch "The Voice" season 10 finale--sans Whitney's legendary vocals--on Monday (May 23) at 8:00 p.m. EST on NBC.

At least we know who the Houston family will contact to give an official Whitney Tribute once the hologram is ready

In all honesty, this is a good turn of events.

The performance, which would have amassed mostly backlash because of the hologram, didn't air. But the leak did circulate (and still is circulating), which means that at least a few people witnessed the absolute slayage my girl pulled off.

And it's obviously a good thing there won't be a hologram tour

I think it would've been much more impactful as a tribute Christina did without the whole hologram mess, because she SLAYED.

I mean I don't know what more they wanted the Whitney Hologram to do...it's not like they can make it give impromptu vocal runs or ad libs as the vocals are "studio/live" recordings (correct me if I'm wrong).

For what it's worth, it was cool to see...creepy... but cool.
And X is happy people got to see it, that's all she cares about because X's vocals were on

I'm not surprised Whtiney's family asked her to perform the tribute. Whitney always listed her as one of her fav modern vocalists.
