Yeah, Prince almost sabotaged his career by giving his label the finger, but they actually listened to him and gave him control over most of his copyrights.
His finances are/were(?) in shambles though because he never listened to his label and never put any of his music on catalogue sites, didn't use Spotify, NEVER gave artists the performing rights to his songs, and never gave out any copyrights to use his songs in film/media without his express permission.
Basically he could be sooo wealthy had he collected royalties, but ya can't do that if theres nothing to collect them from.
it makes the fact that Vadge is still alive even more impressive
