ABBA and Celine are the only massive artists, and they didn't really become popular because of eurovision. the. Tatu was already big before eurovision. Loreen is the only other one with a hit. The rest are local.

she performed on a show but since it was not seen by many and not internationally she didn't really get an advantage so it's ok.

(the bigger problem imo is that the song was referred to our crimea or sth like that back then, clearly saying its a political song but well...)

This year was really amazing. I've been talking to my friends and there is like 10-15 songs we still listen to after Eurovision (which is usually not a case dd; ). Other than Jamala, top 10 is amazing

There are like 20 replay worthy songs this year, much better than 2014-5 for sure

I'm not the biggest fan of the winner this year, not that the song or performance are bad, it certainly is Top 10 worthy, but not winner worthy imo.

You can say what you want, she wanted to spread a message, a story, etc. That's nice. But you can't move over the fact that it's all politically filled and is directed towards a certain nation.

So you say "a song festival/contest created to bring the europe together after WWII", why are politics involved in it then? You can use other platforms to promote a certain message, I feel like they should keep the politics, country fights, and all that stuff outside of this contest.

1944 isn't even political though. Like you can think whatever you want, but the lyrics contain no references to the current political situation or Russia.
