The "specific audience" they were trying to target is clearly straight white men, because that's what something like 18 of their 22 primetime programs focus on. If they cared about female audiences they would greenlight projects that test well with female audiences... Like this one evidently did.

Well, women are easier to reach and basically
all of CBS is more female than male audience anyway.

They have zero trouble reaching female audiences so aren't worried.
