What do you think? I personally think yes but after you know the basics it should become an optional lesson (I got forced to do it in GCSE's)

Yes but maybe give lessons about every religion, and not just christianity

No, not everyone has the same religion...if we're taking about it in a historical aspect, then sure. But it really isn't necessary to go any further than that.

Only in its historical context, and from an academic / irreligious perspective.

No holy books should be studied in school.

A religious study course for multiple religions would be fine in highschool and college...but not any younger tha that. And not teaching one religion and practicing that faith in school though.

In my previous school it was taught, but not as a compulsory class, those who weren't interested had the option to sit out & had that period free; unfortunately the class was strictly Christianity & ofcourse most students ditched because they just wanted the free period.

Well in my country we have a religion subject depends on your own religion.

It should be taught like history, not like science

Religion is taught in Switzerland too, we had it for 1-2 years.

I think it's important, but maybe not every country would appreciate having to teach other religions. This isn't an issue here since almost all religions are somehow present and accepted. Of course it needs to be from more of a historical view and a general overlook, you can't force beliefs on students.
It truly helps to conquer prejudice.

This is my stance. It should be taught from a historical perspective, not like we have now. It's important to understand how Religion played a part in the shaping of the World and some of the biggest wars the world has ever seen.

There shouldn't be a class dedicated to it though like we have now (Religious Education). It should be incorporated into the History syllabus.
